Summer Fun

I was kinda nervous about school getting out this year. Okay very nervous. Chapel would come home singing all these cute songs about how Pre-K was coming to an end and all I could think was how happy the teachers and students must be and how I was freaking out about summer. I had told Brett early on I wanted my kids to have a summer and not have to go to summer school or have every minute planned. I wanted time to go to the beach, pool, sleep in, or just do nothing. But as the summer approached I began to wonder if I had gotten in over my head.....

We decided camps would be a good way to break up the summer months. Brett did some leg work and found a few great camps for both Chapel and Eli at places like the Gibbes, Children's Museum, and this week - Farm Camp. Chapel has been going to Legare Farms all week and has been collecting eggs, picking veggies, and feeding goats. She gets to climb this great big oak tree everyday and do arts and crafts under the shady oak. This is her third and favorite camp all summer. Next week we have VBS and then one soccer camp in August and then before you know it, school will be starting again.

Of all the things Eli has done this summer, his biggest smile came the day he had a playdate at the James Island County Park with his best friend, Coleman. These two boys are Rowdy with a capital "R" together. It's nice to see him interacting and talking with a friend his own age. Eli is usually chasing Chapel and her friends around so it was great to make a special afternoon for him and his friend.
